John McCain On Sarah Palin's 'Going Rogue'

I don't think John McCain is looking forward to the release of Sarah Palin's book, Going Rogue.

Seemed like he had an awfully hard time speaking well of Sarah.

When asked if McCain thought she was qualified to be president, his answer SHOULD'VE been "I had her as a running mate. Had we won, she could've been president if something happened to me, so yes, she is qualified." Did I miss that somewhere in his rant?

B&G - I agree completely, and that is why this opportunistic RINO will never get my vote in 2010. I'll not vote for senator and take my chances before I vote for him.

remember 'mysterious' 'leaks' during the campaign --re: Sarah Palin---I believe they came from McCain's closest staff...She was sabotaged --perhaps McCain -the ol' 'aisle reacher' had no intention to win...
He was the Lesser of Two Evils-- LOTE (my word) ---The R party must give us in the US better than the LOTE from now on!

Getting a compliment for Palin out of that old fart is like pulling teeth. I hope she tears him and his dumb cronies a new one in her book.

Cliff - I'd love to see a body language breakdown on that segment. He can't even look up when he talks about her, unless it's about "she energized the base."

What a selfish bastard.. and to think I actually once respected him.

Soloman: I wonder why the GOP picked McCain to run last year with so many more-qualified candidates. That issue always puzzled me. If Sarah hadn't been on the ticket, McCain would've suffered a Mondale. Maybe the GOP had a "WTF" moment.

A Romney/Palin ticket would've worked

CS - yes, I do remember the 'leaks' and they seemed to put Palin in a worse light. That being said, there's no way she by herself made or broke McCain's campaign - it was purely the market crash that mattered.

B&G - McCain was at the top of the GOP ticket because the GOP tends to annoint the 'next in line' for their ticket.

Being conservative, this makes sense.. kind of, but not really.

Funny thing is, they broke that pattern with W. in 2000 - McCain really should have won that nomination, but W. used dirty tactics in S. Carolina and went on to win.

Pedaling - I wanted Romney over McCain, but Romney's got his own issues. He's been too liberal on some issues for the hard right, and there are too many in the east and midwest afraid of a Mormon.. which is strange because a lot of these same people probably crossed over and voted for the 'black liberation theology' guy, which is more scary in my mind.

And Romney never would have chosen Palin. He probably would have chosen Pawlenty or Huckabee - somebody safe within the Christian Coalition and more well known.
