Dan Rather Says Obama Could Not Sell Watermelons

This one falls into the category of "If a Conservative said that...Oh, what the reaction would be!"

I don't believe for a moment that Rather intended this statement to be racist. It was just one of those things a person says... but it certainly is funny, and of course we all know had it been Rush, Glenn, Bill, or Sean making the same statement....

It is also quite interesting that Rather called out Obama's leadership while Chris Matthews had to sit there and bite his tongue. That had to hurt...

You can find more discussion via Memeorandum, as well as a post at Left Coast Rebel that includes insight into the reaction from the left, as well as a couple of funny pictures.

Soloman, that's great!

Also reminds me of This one

They can't hold their racism back with wild horses.

I think Chrissy almost lost it.

What if this was a right wing conservative that said this?

Dan Rather just can't seem to extricate himself from the 1950's.

I wonder if Dan Rather knows Jim's new friend ? I read your comment at Jim's place. You hit the nail on the head.

You are 'under the spotlight' at LCR!

Kid, that Jimmah Cattah moment was classic...

WMUR -

I agree... you could hear Matthews chomping at the bit trying to stop Rather from speaking.

Mike - really?

LL -

I read somewhere that what Rather said was actually an old expression from the south... Rather's from Houston. Makes sense, and therefore so does what you said, which is why I don't think Rather intended to come across as racist, it just sounded that way.

Odie - heh... I wonder. Glad you liked the comment I left at Jim's. That guy was full of it..

Rebel - thanks for the spotlight! Much appreciated..

and I linked to you on the 'banned Drudge story as I linked Memeorandum and Big Government.

I also found and added to my post a link to last year when the Massachusetts US Atty's office banned Drudge.. kinda interesting, twice in a twelve month period he's been banned in gov't offices...
