Buycott Arizona

A couple of days ago, the wonderful and noteworthy bloggers at HillBuzz posted about the Arizona border debate.

Titled "Hey – do you like to buy stuff? Then buy stuff from Arizona. It’s BUYCOTT time, baby," the post and its comments section are a wonderful compliment to the efforts of those in Arizona's government who are trying to uphold the law.

From the post:

So, last night we had to order a couple of books for a project we’re working on, and we went to ABEbooks.com, like we usually do, to find the cheapest titles we could find. Instead of ordering from one of the Illinois or Indiana sellers like normal (because it would get to us faster), we looked through all the available books until we found a seller in Arizona.

Since the Left is caterwauling to “boycott Arizona” because Governor Jan Brewer decided to enforce the law against illegal aliens, we decided to support Arizona in our own small way, and bought something we needed, and were going to buy anyway, from an Arizona business.

While we were at it, we also looked online for an Arizona company that sells cactus candy, because we happen to love the stuff, and haven’t had any in a while. So, we got ourselves some of that, too, for the candy bowl here at Buzzquarters.

For the foreseeable future, whatever else we need, from candy to books to an Urn of Osiris or a kaleidoscope, we’re going to buy it from an Arizonan business as much as possible.

It’s a BUYCOTT, baby.

And, it’s hella on.

Read the rest of the post here, and be sure to scan through the comments section - it is absolutely inspiring to see so many people from areas outside Arizona stand up for those of us in the middle of the firestorm.

Dear Arizona, keep your chin up! The liberal media might not love you, but you are admired by Democratic Americans Everywhere!!!!

To the rest of the Harper Valley PTA jumping on the bus to run down 70% of Arizona's population, You better be careful! The people who's rights you trample today will probably trample your's tomorrow.

California is on my permanent sh*tlist. I wasn't comfortable with them electing The Governator, but boycotting their entire state because THEIR electorate voted him into office would have been highly un-democratic. Watching them stick their nose into their NEIGHBOR'S business is the excuse I needed to permanently boycott California. Glad this happened after Coachella, I'll miss the music but I won't miss the mess! I've already tossed my California wines and called off my yearly trip to SF gay pride parade since those "don't boycott me" but "let's boycott them" progressives opened their mouths to say something stupid. Who's next? Chicago (Lollapalooza sucked last year anyways), New York, possibly the Denver homophobes that are starting to speakup?

Yes indeed people, LET'S PLAY BOYCOTT!

Sincerely,

Some Cantankerous Queen In Seattle That Won't Ever Forget This B.S.

Thanks for stopping in to comment over at Corndog and btw, you're totally linked ;-)

Odie, what kind of Ruger will you be packing? I had a Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum years ago, and firing a box of magnum shells on the practice range would turn my hand into hamburger trying to hold onto that monster.

Soloman,

Abso-freaking-lute fantastic idea! My newly-minted USMC son has been beating me up to go firearm-shopping with him and he has a girl[space]friend (i.e., friend with no romantic entanglements) whose dad always makes pilgrimages to the gun shows in AZ. Next trip: I'm there with some filthy luchre to back these brave souls to the hilt.

..ya got any recommendations as to shows?

love the idea, but I just ceased all my ebay buying because it gets out of control way too quickly.

Out of convenience, unfortunately, I've overpaid hundreds on my guns- Well, actually, there is more to that because gun shops can charge whatever transfer fees they want in order to "persuade" you to buy from them.

Either way- I'm glad those that can spend right now will spend to support others. I can not fully explain how much the current economy has hurt me, but it is bad enough that even side jobs don't cut it. I'm sure it has affected many of us here much the same way and we all hope that we can survive just long enough to see our way out of it.

This is no time to turn down business!

Hey all -

Sorry it took me a while to get back here and reply.

In short - thanks all for the support. Although it's not personal (as in about me directly) all the hate from the leftists feels very personal. (I'm sure Tammy can relate)

I know better, and my friends know better, but it's been sickening to witness the way we've been disparaged in the media.

Red - thanks for the link!

TCL - thanks for the FB link!

Gorges Smythe - no worries - hell, I live here and I can hardly afford to buy anything here.. lol!!!

Velcro - welcome - there's lots of us out here. I managed to miss visiting your blog too. Nothing personal, I'm sure. Glad to meet you. I saw you added me to your blog roll - I've done the same for you here. Thank you!

War Planner - I've never attended a show here. Everyone talks about Crossroads of the West, which appears to be a traveling show. They're back here July 10th-11th - right smack in the middle of the heat. I do know there are a few good stores in town that sell new, and some decent pawn shops too.

Thanks again to all y'all for coming by and for the support - we Arizonans greatly appreciate you, believe me!!
