Friday Night Videos: How Obama Got Elected, Stand-Up Comedy Routine

For comedy to be effective, it must include must be some element of reality.

Knowing this, enjoy this clip I found on YouTube. It was posted October 28, 2008 - just one week before the 2008 presidential election.

This kid is talented and funny, and he clearly had a very keen understanding of what the nation was thinking in the days leading up to election day.

Interesting-

I have a very old friend of mine that wanted to do stand up- totally crazy liberal, but very open-minded and open to conversation.

Personally this was not funny, it was a political message. This is amateur stuff so it's fine, and I'm actually he had the stones to stand up in a notably hostile environment (the performance arts). I don't see a comedy future, I see a future though because courage to take risks is a big defining aspect of success.

I missed the word glad before "the stones".

sorry, I'll do more grammar check-

I don't know if you noticed that this guy insults Christianity to the core. He's not very funny, very few laughs. And I guess Obama is so popular and cool (e.g. American Idol) that he has to go back and make fun of Bill Clinton and Hillary. Success is bothering you, isn't it?

ozzie -

I didn't roll over laughing, but I found it funny in that the kid was so spot on, especially at the end. Remember, this was filmed before the election, yet this kid was smart enough to realize Obama was all about him (narcissism), it was all about how everyone needed to feel involved (white guilt), and how everyone was being fooled.

Turns out this kid saw it all perfectly.

He didn't insult Christianity, he insulted Obama's mock attempt to act like a Christian.

And since you didn't read the post - and you can fact check me on this by double-clicking the video - this was posted to YouTube Oct. 28, 2008.

This tells me how much you really pay attention. Hell, this post was only three sentences and you didn't catch that? No wonder you're an Obama supporter.

Soloman-

You are absolutely right- White guilt is the cause of what is going on right now-

That's what I meant about courage about his message. It takes balls to say that about his own people. They are idiots, he needs to stand up for them!
