Wham, Bam, Thank You, Ma'am: Bart Stupak's Had His Way With America, and Now He's Leaving

Bart Stupak had his way with America, and now he's ditching her on the side of the road like a cheap tramp.

Today Stupak announced his retirement, blaming travel, and saying he had already completed much of what he aimed to do in Congress.

From Politico.com:

“I’ve accomplished what I want to do. Either I run again and I’d be there forever or it’s time for me to make the break; it’s time for me to move on,” Stupak said.

Republicans quickly called this retirement for what it is - the chickenshit, whimpering with his tail between his legs way out for a pathetic little man, who sold his soul to the devil for a little noteriety and an airport or three with his name on them.

“After selling his soul to Nancy Pelosi, it appears that Bart Stupak finally found the courage to tell her no," said Ken Spain, communications director of the National Republican Congressional Committee. "The political fallout over the Democrats’ government takeover of health care has put the political careers of many Democrats in jeopardy, thanks in part to Stupak’s decision to abandon his alleged pro-life principles."

Thanks Bart... you sorry piece of worthless garbage. Don't let the door hit your sorry ass on the way out. Sorry you had to travel so much to earn that measly $175K salary and be wined and dined and bought nice gifts just to flip a lever in the right direction.

I hope you have a nice speech prepared for the day you meet your Creator. You're gonna need it.

More at Memeorandum.

Ouch. That's harsh. But entirely fair. You're right.

I want to keep an eye on this guy. No cushy government patronage jobs. And lets be prepared to boycott any private organization that hires this coward.

Yep. Ouch, harsh.

You know me by now - I usually keep it clean and polite, but WTF?

This is bullshit to the highest level and he needs to be called out for it.

And I fully agree - we need to really keep an eye on him. All of them, for that matter. There's going to be a mass exodus this year, and we need to hold them all accountable.

Thanks for the tweet - I replied, don't know if you see that or not. I've got a twitter account but I don't understand the way it all works, so I hope it showed up?

I for one will miss the little F***ing turd.

RightKlik - Sorry but all these turds were made filthy rich by the obama crew, and could care less whether they get re-elected or not. They are retiring very wealthy and won't be looking for jobs or working unless some assholes somewhere actually want to pay good money to hear them push air through their pie holes.

Sorry to say.

The chicken shit did sell his soul to the devil. He ticks me of so much. There is no such thing as a pro-life Democrat. Don't let the door hit him on the way out.

Stupak knows he will lose in November, so he's bailing out. I will not be surprised if Obama promised him a job somewhere else, so I agree, we must keep our eye on the weasel.
He is a sorry excuse for a human being.

The Conservative Lady:

If he (or many other Congressmen/women) was offered something, I believe that the corruption is so prevalent that it will not stop them from making the appointment.

I think that blogs like this one and the American people need to watch them and their cronies like hawks because they will try to collect eventually (through personal gain or through a proxy). And we need a media to put it out there- since we know the mainstream media is, at best, useless, and at worst, complicit; we have to spread as much as can be spread so that the average working family that watches ABC before going to bed hears about it.

How that is done is still a mystery to me.

Yeah, I'll watch too to see if this former police officer and pro-lifer makes it rich on those airports you're claiming HE got. But it sounds to me like the vitriol you and your friends had for him made politics ugly for him, so congratulations on a job well done--you kicked an anti-choicer out of Congress because of a bill that doesn't affect abortion in the least.

Pink,

Don't be an idiot when you comment here please.

Stupak is a liar and has no standards. Good riddance to the piece of shit.

He's not a pro-lifer, and he's not a pro-abort either. He's pro-whatever gets Stupak the best deal, which makes him the lowest form of slimy politician.

If we Tea Party Conservatives had anything to do with his leaving, then good for us. His last day in office can't come soon enough.

One other thought -

This bill absolutely will bring public funding to abortion. That "Executive Order" is worth about as much as the roll of toilet paper hanging in my bathroom right now.

Presidents don't have the power to override legislation in that manner - if they did, we'd have no need for a Congress and the system we have in place.

That legislation was written by the Center for American Progress, and there will be loopholes found that allow public funding for abortion.

Soloman: I have to admit that I love the way you don't tip-toe around anything. For way too long conservatives have had to walk on egg shells and I think that time is over. Those who are still "too civil" need a lesson in effectiveness. Kudos- even though I know that when it comes down to it, the facts are on our side so their is no reason for reluctance to fight fire with fire, it's often-times just laziness to acquiesce to the left's barrage. In the past it has just been the standard because no one wants to deal in warfare of any kind, but now that the average American is threatened, we all still have the power to fight back, and thankfully the will.

Thank you.

I heard a statement made by Dennis Prager yesterday or today. He was discussing political correctness, and said that what politically correct actually means is acceptable to liberals.

I had never heard it stated quite that way, but I fully agree, and I've decided it's high time we Conservatives recognize that as a truth in the world today.

I'm the first to call out a stupid comment by someone I support too, mind you. Not too long ago J. D. Hayworth made some stupid comment about man marrying a horse if gay marriage is legal. Let's face it, that's taking the slippery slope to an extreme, and that comment is now coming back to bite Hayworth, as McCain has clipped it and used it in an advertisement.

Of course, at the same time I can't stand the fact that McCain is fighting harder against Hayworth than he did against Obama.

But that's what political correctness will do to a person...

Soloman:

Don't know if you've read Liberal Fascism, but one of the arguments made in the book is that "liberals" think that an inherent quality of liberalism is the ability to do no harm and they subsequently redefine liberalism as it suits their need. Basically, (paraphrasing here), if a person's policy does harm, they cease to be liberals. It's a very different/weird ideology because it accommodates any perspective. We have to be smarter to expose the subterfuge.
