Game Change: Sarah Palin Says It Best In Her Fox News Debut

So for the past couple of days I've sat in front of this keyboard and pondered commentary regarding revelations from this new book Game Change, which seems to want to destroy everything that is not Barack Obama. I’ve been on Dayquil and Nyquil over the past couple of days so my thinking hasn’t been the most clear, but regardless of all of that I still haven’t been able to summarize my thoughts on the subject.

However, after watching the debut of Sarah Palin as a paid political contributor to Fox News Channel, I must say - she said everything I had to say and said it better.

So to blatantly plagiarize Mrs. Palin, although I’m sure she wouldn’t mind… the bottom line is that outside the Beltway and New York elitists, the rest of America doesn't care about that kind of crap.

We do not care specifically about the fact that Harry Reid said Barack Hussein Obama does not have a "Negro dialect" unless he wishes to have one. However, we are now concerned about the blatant double standard shown by politicians on the left (including the president) who are running to the defense of Reid. We are also concerned that Reid has run around apologizing to everyone except those whom he offended the most - we, the American electorate. Reid will get his come November.

Regarding another subject from Game Change that was dealt with on Bill O’Reilly’s show tonight, and right now seems to be all the leftists can talk about: Any of us with any common sense understand that it's not anywhere nearly as important whether or not Sarah Palin knows how the world came to have a North Korea and a South Korea as that she understands the difference between the two today.

Furthermore, we do care that there are some in the current presidential administration who believe that Mao Tse Tung is a great political philosopher, which would essentially align their thinking with the less desirable of the aforementioned Korea nations (that’s North Korea, for all you leftists out there. Mao was a Communist… oh, never mind… )

We want our borders secured. We want our airlines secure. We do not care how many speeches our president makes about it – in fact, at this point fewer speeches and press conferences would better, because the more he speaks about it the more he perpetuates his image as an empty vessel that prefers rhetoric to response. Sadly, even his rhetoric is empty in these situations. This president speaks with great passion to SEIU members when discussing the governmental takeover of fifteen percent of our economy, but anytime he addresses our national security his voice lacks inflection and his face lacks expression. These situations are our life, Mr. President. We expect you to act like you are concerned, and this Mr. Cool act you try to play just ain’t cutting it.

On the subject of security: the rights defined by The Constitution – the rights endowed upon us by our Creator, not our government – apply to citizens of this nation in good standing, and those who try to harm us should not be given the same rights. They certainly deserve humane treatment while in our custody, but the idea that someone who tries to blow up an airplane flying over Detroit (or any American city) deserves the right to remain silent is patently absurd, and the right to a trial by a jury of their peers is theoretically impossible in this nation. The attempt to blow up an airplane is an act of war; it is time our current president recognizes it as such. However, I’m not holding my breath…

It is my belief that what Americans want in our political leadership today is an understanding of the founding of our nation and the reasons our nation was created as a Constitutional Republic. We want leadership that understands that our rights are ours, not belonging to the government to use as tools for negotiation. These rights were endowed upon us by our Creator, not by our Founding Fathers, not by FDR, and certainly not by Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid.

So while those in the elitist New York and Washington media scoff at Palin and revel in all of the behind-the-scenes backstabbing that was uncovered or created by the authors of Game Change, I hope Chris Matthews recognizes that Going Rogue is number one for a profound reason: Real America couldn’t care less about all that Game Change crap.

Sarah seemed a little on guard. That's probably a good idea with O'Reilly. She's gonna do well on TV.

I thought Gov. Palin did well in her debut on Fox. She will definitely boost their ratings, but more important, people will be able to hear her message and form their own opinions about her...not depend on the state-controlled media's version.
Terrific post BTW.
Hope you feel better soon.

I thought she did well by attacking the agendas as opposed to attacking the individuals.

Hopefully she can maintain the ability to turn the other cheek by addressing the issues.

I watched her last night and have to confess that she did much better than I expected her to do.

She seemed much more polished, relazed and composed. She came off as extrememly intelligent and ready to tackle ISSUES and not people.

Thanks for the fun Soloman. Sarah Palin has the left hiding under their beds. They're going to slam her with everything they have, but it's going to get old and people will tune them out.

In addition to being #1 on Amazon and B&N.com, "Game Change" is also selling extremely well in physical stores so it's more than just NY elites and The Beltway who are interested in reading it.

I watched Sarah Palin's debut on Fox last night and pretty much got what I expected. Good for her though, I'm not mad that she's on Fox nor am I hiding under my bed out of fear of the Sarah-cuda. I'm actually looking forward to seeing her on there.

I thought Sarah did very good on her debut on Fox.

Have to admit, all the interesting juicy details coming from Hannity and others regarding "Game Change" has enticed me to want to read it. Granted, reading that particular book is not one of my top priorities.

Thanks for posting the Vids Sol. I didn't have time to watch but wanted to.

She did a great job. No way she was stalking that fast reading a prompter.

She speaks a million percent better than the thinking on ones feet challenged president.

The difference is like a laser beam into space versus a 30 watt bulb.

I'm getting traffic from you, too. You rock!

Nickie - I don't know if you caught O'Reilly and Beck discussing Palin tonight, but Beck said he's never met someone so guarded.

She'll do well if she proves that she can analyze. If all she does is throw out campaign slogans then she might as well stick to Facebook.

Having said that, I'm hoping for the best for her.. I expect Roger Ailes brought her in to help her, not to hurt her...

Soloman said...

TCL - I think she did decently... see my comments to Nicki.

I'm feeling a bit better. I caught something nasty, but I think I'm kicking it.

jadedfellow - her role on FNC is not supposed to be as an attacker... so she'll need to shy away from that completely. If she uses FNC as a forum to attack those who wish to attack her she'll look petty.

She needs to learn to have insight and educate the viewers, not just say what we want to hear from her - therefore your "addressing the issues" point makes great sense.

Soloman said...

M-Cat - I saw some of that... I also saw a lot of hesitation, and the same came through when Beck asked her the question about her favorite Founding Father.

She needs to not be afraid to hurt people's feelings, not matter what side of the aisle those people are on. We're all grown-ups.. and if we don't like something she's got to say but she's right, she needs to stand by her belief.

Odie - I agree, the left is scared senseless of Palin.. it's actually funny.

I agree - there probably are still some who will learn to tune out the MSM once they get a chance to hear more from her - as long as she is intelligent and informative, not just opinionated. Her Facebook page has been a good forum for her to present ideas, now she needs to learn to translate that to TV and radio.

Malcolm - I personally could care less where Game Change is on the charts... my closing was sarcasm more than sincerity. Come around more often and you'll learn to recognize that in my writings. I need a sarcasm font... lol...

Truth is, though... regardless of whare this book is on the charts, I'm working a four day work week, my brother's business is down 20% from one year ago, and there are many more worse off than are we.

What matters to real America is not the petty crap behind the scenes of a campaign. What matters is how am I going to get my brakes done, or how will the family have enough food this week without paying short on the electric bill.

The petty crap is fun fodder for bloggers and Cable TV news channels.

I got what I expected from Palin too on O'Reilly's show.. and I expect her to develop her skills as an analyst. What happens from there is hard to say, but she's certainly refreshing compared to the Chicago-style thuggery we've got going on right now.

Teresa - I saw your post on Atlas Shrugged earlier this week... I got that book as a Christmas gift this year, as well as 1984, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, the Dick Morris book about Hillary (politics of personal destruction), and Levin's Liberty and Tyranny...

So although 1984, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies are books I've certainly read before, it's been over twenty years... and I've got much reading to do before I ever concern myself with Game Change.

Soloman said...

Kid - glad you got to see them here.

I agree.. if you take Obama's prompter away, he's actually less coherent than is Palin, for all the mockery the left gives her.

j summ and Snarky B. - if I knew what I'm doing to drive traffic your way I'd do it some more!

Considering I only had 55 page views yesterday (Thurs) and 29 today (Fri) I haven't a clue. Maybe it's got to do with you posting recently and the placement of my blog roll and the fact that it lists most recent updates first?

Anyway - I'm sure it's my incredible writing...

glad to help!
