Friday Night Videos: Light My Fire

Written by Robby Krieger, Light My Fire was The Doors biggest chart hit, and considered by many to be their signature song.

In honor of Robby's 64th birthday... The Doors.

Good tune. The first concert I ever went to was The Doors. As Morrison did this tune, any woman within throwing distance tossed their underwear on stage.

They have a lot of great tunes though. I'd be hard pressed to pick one.

Hey Sol:
That song brings back memories, although I never saw The Doors in person. Jim Morrison looked a little (alot) out of it, ha, ha.

While we're celebrating birthdays...Elvis would have celebrated his 75th birthday on the same day.

Yet another classic, Kid. I'm awaiting a Sam Cooke homage.

Kid... what a thrill that must have been, to see The Doors live - your first concert, no less!

I was a big Doors fan in my teens, and remain so today. I was far too young to have seen them perform, as I was born around the same time as their first album was released.

I agree... I'd be hard pressed to pick one Doors song that was their "best." There never was a Doors song I didn't enjoy.

TCL - Morrison pretty much lived his adult life out of it, by all accounts. Sadly, sometimes the best musicians have lived that way.

I did this post specifically to bring forward a birthday that was not Elvis. I figure you can't get through a January 8th without some news agency telling you it's Elvis' birthday, so I highlighted the little guy... and the guitarist from one of my favorite bands of all time too!
