Historic "Bi-Partisan" House Passes The Nancy Pelosi Destruction of America Act of 2009

Under the cover of a Saturday night the Nancy Pelosi Destruction of America Act of 2009 passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 220-215.

A triumphant Speaker Nancy Pelosi likened the legislation to the passage of Social Security in 1935 and Medicare 30 years later. "Oh, what a night!" she proclaimed at the beginning of a press conference held after the vote. President Obama issued a statement saying, "I look forward to signing it into law by the end of the year."

Pelosi and Obama failed to mention that Social Security currently has an unfunded liability of over $13 trillion, and Medicare over $73 trillion. For more information on exactly how broke our government has made the United States, click here.

The vote fell across party lines, with only one Republican voting in favor of the bill. It is likely in the coming days we will much about the bi-partisan nature of the vote. To see the names of those who voted in favor of this completely un-Constitutional measure, click here.

Meanwhile, Obama still has none absolutely nothing regarding the request from General McChrystal for the deployment of 40,000 more troops to Afghanistan, and he has issued no apology for his absolutely rude and inconsiderate speech Thursday at the Tribal Nations Conference, as he went on and on about his agenda before beginning to speak about the horrific murder by an Islamic Jihadi terrorist at Ft. Hood.

Instead, he once again made the event all about himself by saying "And I want all of you to know that as Commander-in-Chief, there's no greater honor but also no greater responsibility for me than to make sure that the extraordinary men and women in uniform are properly cared for and that their safety and security when they are at home is provided for." Apparently he missed out on the part where presidents are supposed to take Muslim Terrorists seriously.

However, he does have a Nobel Peace Prize, and it is likely his golf game is improving since he has had more than adequate time on the links since becoming president.

tisk, tisk. we all know that a low golf handicap, coupled with incredible speeches provided by your trusty teleprompter, equals security.

Someone actually called one vote bipartisan?

"Oh, what a night!"...indeed.

Hope cometh in the morning, however. This debacle will NOT be repeated on the floor of the Senate. At least, that is my prayer...

I am trying to find out the name of the Senator that promised to have the entire bill read on the floor if it made it to the Senate? I want to contact him, but I can't recall who said it.

Sue: It was Tom Coburn of Oklahoma. I'm still wondering WTF happened to the voice of the people.

Soloman: Tomorrow night, pal! :-D

j summ - thank you for reminding me. Somehow I had it in my silly head that listening to the Generals would be a good thing for a POTUS to do, but obviously I was thinking of the America before the fundamental transformation.

lady di - actually, I believe I heard something about that somewhere recently.

. . . and I was really looking forward to seeing Nancy cry. Oh well. Maybe when it fails in the Senate someone will catch he wailing and gnashing her teeth. I can only hope.

Pedaling - me too. Between the vote on health care and the outrageous speech The Won gave to the Tribal Council where he promoted his own agenda forever before even mentioning Ft. Hood, I'm just sick. I've had trouble finding the spirit to write this weekend, and as you might notice I'm not my usual cut & dry self; a bit more snark in my words.

Bill - I can't say that I have actually heard that - yet.

But I'll bet someone from the left will say it by mid-week. After all, they got one Republican - the guy who holds the former seat of Democrat William Jefferson from Louisiana, so actually he probably was listening to his constituents when he voted in favor.

Sue - I think you might be right. It might be only by reconciliation that they can pass anything in the Senate. They're already fighting Lieberman who says he'll filibuster, and there are other centrist Dems who will listen to the voters over Obama - we hope.

B&G - you got your Broncos logo all picked out? Can't wait to see it!!!

Janie Lynn... I'd like to see her really cry, not that fake crap she pulled when she tried to compare tea party people to radicals in San Fran in the late 70's.

Seriously ticks me off so bad!!!

Soloman said...

Serious - the good news right now, if you haven't seen the headlines, is that this house version is already being deemed dead in the Senate.

That doesn't mean they won't try to pass something though...
