Are You Ready For Some Football?
On Monday night, my beloved Broncos will be playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. This will be an excellent opportunity for the Broncos to recover from last weekend's devastating first and only loss of the season.
In the name of good fun, I've made a bet with Black and Gold Fan over at The Right Stuff, since she is as passionate about the Steelers as I am the Broncos. The banter we've had back and forth lately has been a lot of fun.
Should (make that WHEN) the Broncos win on MNF, she has kindly promised to display the Denver Broncos logo in her profile for the entire day on Tuesday. Should the Steelers win, I have most graciously agreed to put "Steelers Spank Bronc.." (we won't go there) in the header of my site for the day on Tuesday.
It's going to be a great game between two teams that are in the midst of excellent seasons. The Steelers got off to a rough start but have bounced back admirably, and the Broncos, under new head coach Josh McDaniels are off to an extremely impressive 6-1 start. The Steelers are coming off a bye week, and the game will be played in Denver, where visiting teams rarely prevail on Monday Night Football.
Just remember to check out The Right Stuff on Tuesday to find out what happened on Monday night.

Gonna have to line up behind B&GF on this one. Especially if the Broncs are wearing their retro uni's with those funky socks. Yoish!
I'm not a football fan (I call it Foozball), but I love Beavis and Butthead :)
LMFAO!!! This post sounds soooo familiar!
It's gonna be fun!!

the choice is yours of course, as we are thankfully a free nation. We're all in good fun here, no matter how many broken bones the Steelers have by game's end.. lol..
However, to condemn the retro uniforms, hmmm..
The Broncos have a perfect record wearing them, so if they do this week you might want to consider where you place your bets!
Candle.. call it whatever you'd like.
My best advice? If you don't have a personal interest, bet on the team playing at home on any Monday night. Odds are in your favor.
Plus, this week, that means you're betting the Broncos will win, which of course is what you want to see happen! You just don't realize it yet...
Hey B&G.. like I said, with corrections!!
have you stocked up on kleenex?
You might have a long night of crying come Monday... LOL!!
This upcoming game puts me in a weird position...
I am praying you guys beat the Squealers since we are tied with them for first place in the AFC North. However, I CAN'T forget the horrific loss to you guys on a fluke play opening day...
I really wish you BOTH could lose, but since that can't happen, I have to say, Go BRONCS!
Seriously, it should be a good game...
WHO DEY!
Sue, you have chosen wisely.
While I understand your angst over the fluke play, that was just one play, and after the Broncos roll the Squealers, your team will be in better position to hope they might ever be able to avenge that loss.
Not like that would ever happen, of course.. lol!!!!
Either way - hopefully we'll see an excellent game between two incredibly storied franchises.
Hey dude! After a google search of odds and point spreads, everyone is saying Steelers -3 with one site (betonline.com) saying my boys will stop the run and give the Ponies a second loss.
The only concern I have is that we may be without FS Ryan Clark. He almost died last time he played in Denver due to sickle cell, so he may sit this one out. He's done a boffo job so far this year.
No matter what happens, man, you knows I love ya!
Sue: Even though you're backing the Broncs, I'll still be pulling for Cincy. I hate the Ravens much more than the Bengals! :-)
Wow.. the betting line is right in line (no pun intended) with what the Broncos season has been thus far. And no doubt we don't want anyone dying... if he plays, that'll just be that much more of a challenge.
They (Broncos) are without a doubt the surprise of the league right now. We could all see Cincy getting better, and while New Orleans at 7-0 may be surprising, many predicted they would be good this year.
Denver had all kinds of preseason issues including the big QB mess and Brandon Marshall acting like a teenager. Plus a brand new coach... but he is from Bilicheck's staff...
Honestly, I was very worried about the Ravens, and rightfully so. They are the best 4-3 team I've seen in some time. Your Steelers are no doubt for real and on a roll...
Yet the Broncos have surprised two 5-2 teams (NE and Dallas) in games nobody thought they would win.
ESPN power rankings have Denver at #4 but they lost one place after last week. Pittsburgh is #7, holding steady during the bye week.
Geez.. it's only Thursday.. ha!
I'd love to go to bed tonight and not wake up until Monday. I've got the Bye Week Blues!
I get that...
except that for me, I love watching the Sunday games even if they are not my team, plus there's only 3 races left in the NASCAR season, and my driver is on his way to winning his 4th consecutive championship - something that has never been done.
So I will be patient...
