A Great Waste of Ten Minutes

Well... actually not, but then again...

Alright, I've watched almost ten minutes of Keith Olbermann and now, as you can probably tell, I'm becoming schizophrenic. It happens.

Help yourself to mind-numbing partisanship woven around a ridiculous rant about racism and what is clearly a warped version of reality, Liberal Progressive style.

About 1.3 million people a night (2 million, if you count the second run) get their fill of lunatic fringe from this hopeless case of a "infotainment jock" and his parade of moderately educated if not completely partisan guests.

Now see... I'm falling into his trap. The game of the left is to mock and name call to the point that you expect your audience will buy into your attempted dismissal and - without so much as the lift of an investigative finger - parrot the points put forward during your diabolical diatribe.

Quick to play the race card is Olbermann, and he is equally prepared to present Glenn Beck as a warrior in a duel; whereas to listen to Beck and truly understand his motives, this is not for individual gain or celebration.

Rather, this is to Beck something far more important, therefore incredibly difficult for a former sports jockey turned liberal teleprompter reader to comprehend. This is about Love of Country.

This is about Freedom, and the preservation of the Greatest Social and Political Experiment in the history of Mankind. Ratings are no concern, and advertisers can flee like rats from a sinking ship. Dollars be damned, there will be no trophy on a mantle, or mounted on a wall in the home of Glenn Beck.

Ultimately, I believe his wish is my wish, and I believe it to be yours as well.

Stars and Stripes Forever, and the preservation of the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.

"[Obama admin] won't give honest answers to honest questions. I for one will give up everything." -Glenn Beck.

As time rages on, it is clear that Beck is providing trust and truth. O is providing distrust and truth decay.

Olbermann sold his soul with his network.

Olbermann - can you read my mind? It's a good thing.

Great post.

Yes it is about liberty and responsible government. Glen Beck can be edgy and direct, that is what makes him who he is, and effective.

One only needs to read Mr. Becks book, Common Sense to understand he is a true patriot and is unwilling to give up his country and go softly into a dark night.

America needs many More Glen Becks. I for one salute him!

Hey B & G - since I said it all, I won't say anymore! lol..

Jan - I'm not sure what to make of Olbermann, other than the fact that he - just like all other liberals - seems to just have exploded in arrogance since Obama's election.

This will, I expect, backfire on them in time...

And hey - I give a hoot too!

Rational Nation - or may I call you Les?

I agree, obviously, Beck is effective through his personality as much as anything. I too have read "Common Sense," and am anxiously awaiting "Arguing With Idiots." He says he footnoted the heck out of it, a lesson learned from "Inconvenient Book" which the libs picked apart because he didn't trace his sources.

Thanks for the link - back at ya!

Forgive me for not subjecting myself to the Olberman video. I will take your word for it.

Your assessment of Glenn Beck is right on. It is about love of freedom and country. He doesn't want to have to live behind bodyguards. But he is willing to do so for his country.

Stars and Stripes Forever, for me.

Opie - while it's not required viewing of course, it is an interesting insight into the psychology of a Progressive leftist, and given his prominence, I learn a lot about how the left thinks and moves based on his statements and actions.

Someday when you're bored, give it the 10 minutes. You'll find it fascinating... or not. The choice is yours. :)

Soloman, finally added you to my blogroll.

A friend recently went on a diatribe against conservatives and asked me (seriously) who there was on the Left to compare to Beck.

Hello?

Olbermann, Matthews, Williams, Maddow, Schwartz, not to mention the old guard of the NYT, TIME, Newsweek, etc, etc.

do they really not get it?
or
do they just play ignorant on tv?

My blog has Identified Glenn Beck. Now we will Isolate him, Freeze him and then Escalate against him. This man is the embodiment of everything that is terrible about our society, and we will stop at nothing to get him off the air. I am reporting this blog by the way. Capitalism is terrible.

Track - thanks for the add!

Regarding Beck, and those on the left you named as comparable.. While I in no way intend to question their patriotism, I will certainly question the honesty, and occasionally the integrity of at least two of them.

"Tingle up my leg" Matthews lost any credibility right as he made that statement. I used to really enjoy his commentary, and that's a shame.

Olbermann constantly edits and takes politicians and pundits out of context, plus his silence during Janine Garofalo's rant about Tea Party attendees was abhorrent at best.

None are perfect, to be sure - and yes both sides have their share of "talking heads," but I consider Beck a cut above.

Just my opinion, of course...

Pedaling.. good question. I think they really might not get it, because otherwise you'd think there would be more people paying attention to what they say.

Of course, Ignorance is bliss...

Candle - If you would like to leave a comment for Glenn Beck, you can reach him at me@glennbeck.com.

Be sure to keep your email open, you'll get an instant reply from his auto-responder asking you to click a confirmation link. They just want to be sure you're really a person, not some spamming machine.

In the meantime, flag@whitehouse.gov is closed. I'm not sure who you plan on reporting me to - perhaps info@colorofchange.org ?

Either way - I checked out your blog. I'm sorry you seem to be filled with so much anger and bitterness.

Perhaps a conversation with God would do you some good. The choice is yours, of course.

You don't need to go to a church where you might be judged - just go sit in the woods on a nice day, or by the side of a stream at dusk in autumn, watching the leaves fall.

He will help you if you allow Him to be a part of your life. He doesn't need any more than your acceptance and your commitment to allow His presence in all that you are.

Good luck.
