I've been quiet, I know. I've written dozens of emails and messages to myself, planning to sort through them and compose a statement of my thoughts. But I haven't been able to bring myself to say anything nice about the media or our current administration, so I've opted to say nothing.
Well, that's frustrating me to no end, and I've got to make a change... so tonight I need to at least offer someone else's fine work. It'll help me get back on track, I hope and expect...
From the article I described, written by Fox News and Daily Beast contributor Kirsten Powers - who is a self-described liberal, I might add:
"Nothing about the constantly evolving tale the Obama administration has been weaving about the attacks in the Middle East makes sense, unless it is seen as a deliberate attempt to mislead Americans into believing al Qaeda has been decimated, as President Obama has been know to assert. After dancing on Osama bin Laden’s grave for a week in Charlotte, the administration was faced with the reality that the war on terror is still quite on."
And if you're not watching Fox News Watch, please.. set your DVR for the 3pm Eastern hour, record for one hour, and give it a try. Even the vile liberal hack Bill Maher once complimented this excellent show, which I realize may not seem like a ringing endorsement... but trust me, it's very interesting to listen to a panel of respected journalists from both sides of the aisle break down the past week's coverage of major events. Here's a sample from this past week:
Former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino made an excellent point today on The Five, broadcast on Fox News Channel weekdays at 5pm.
Ms. Perino asked if it is at all appropriate for the President of The United States of America to be the leader of a political party that claims to be the defenders of women... you know, the whole "War on Women" thing we have all heard about...
And then, as President, during the same campaign that claims to defend women... go on a radio show and be interviewed by a man who goes by the name "Pimp With a Limp?"
And remember, this is the same President who doesn't have time to meet with the Prime Minister of Israel as the Middle East is in flames, but who taped an appearance on Letterman and has time for a fundraiser in New York City hosted by Beyonce and Jay-Z.
When is it too early to stand up and speak clearly on behalf of American values? When will President Obama ever call a terrorist a terrorist? When will Americans wake up and realize that we have been fooled by our media, the very one charged with protecting our interests and bringing us the truth?
Mitt Romney apparently is not going to be asked the tough questions we saw asked of President Obama… you know, questions about what surprises him the most about this or that, what piece of furniture he likes the most or what is his favorite color, or perhaps who he expects to go the distance in the NFL or the NCAA Final Four. Instead, journalists today gathered before a Romney press conference and conspired to corner him, making sure that no matter who he called on they got the chance to ask exactly the predetermined question they felt would most benefit their narrative.
Fortunately, Mitt Romney knows his values and did not waver. He held strong in the face of the fawning and protective Obama-Mania media and put forward the proper perspective needed; peace through strength and never an apology for our ideals. He also spoke with great clarity about the mixed messages being sent by the Obama administration and how those mixed messages might lead to exactly the sort of egregious acts we saw in Egypt and Libya over the past two days.
No need to worry about world peace when there are fundraisers to be held and celebrities to hang with.
President Obama spoke from the Rose Garden this morning, and again this evening from a campaign fundraiser in Las Vegas. In both speeches he failed to mention Jihad, radical Islam, or any other term that accurately depicts the murderous animals that took the lives of four Americans overseas. Fortunately he did not call it “workplace violence” as was the case when a radical Jihadist murdered thirteen Americans at Ft. Hood last year.
But I digress.
This political correctness crap is destroying America. We have been beaten down by Obama’s fawning media to the point that we are afraid to tell the truth about anything, for fear that we might… well, for their fear that we might expose him for what he truly is.
We can’t discuss race, even when race is truly a factor in the equation. Black unemployment is at record highs, and Black teen employment is nearly non-existent. The family unit in America has fallen apart, and that problem exists exponentially in Black neighborhoods. But instead of discussing the problems that really exist, President Obama perpetuates the victimhood mentality in true liberal fashion.
We are literally in the throes of the worst presidency since Jimmy Carter if not the worst ever, but nobody would ever know it by the reporting of today’s media.
This latest example of Carteresque behavior by Barack Obama should leave all Americans shaking in our shoes and fearing for our nation like no other time in my lifetime. Instead of speaking out with authority and calling evil by its name, the Nobel Peace Prize recipient promised “justice for those responsible.” Really? Exactly how, Mr. President, do you plan on executing said justice in a part of the world being run, barely, by an organization called “The Muslim Brotherhood,” which has in its motto “ Allah is our objective; the Prophet is our leader; the Quran is our law; Jihad is our way; dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope." and which is considered by most experts to be the birthplace of al Qaeda?
Is President Obama really so foolish that he believes his appeasement and apologies really will stop evil from perpetrating itself upon the nation that offers the greatest freedoms to all? Does he really think he is that wonderful that they won’t attack us, simply because he holds office? What kind of fool does not escalate American security to the highest possible levels worldwide, specifically yesterday, on the anniversary of the most evil attack ever perpetrated against this great nation?
America has not lost the life of a diplomat overseas since 1979, which was during the Iranian hostage crisis. That situation was the end of the Carter administration, and this situation, unless somehow miraculously spun and saved by the help of the fawning, conspiring and lying media… this should be the end of the Barack Obama presidency.
America cannot afford four more years of a man so naïve and arrogant that he refuses to call evil by its name and face it with all the strength God affords us. America also cannot afford not to stand side-by-side with our closest ally Israel, which is unquestionably our strongest partner in freedom and democracy. America is not perfect, but we are a good and giving nation, a nation on which the world depends for leadership and guidance.
We must always remember, as our founders told us, that America is the nation God has chosen as the beacon of freedom for all mankind. Until Barack Obama leaves office, the shining light of freedom shall remain dimmed and unseen, and the world will be a less safe place for all mankind.
I am very happy for President Obama that he is doing well in fundraising. This morning Huffington Post told me this is the case… that was the most important thing going on in their eyes at 9:30am, when I took my break. A $3 million differential between the two campaigns, and it deserved a top of the page headlines on that “news” website...
Meanwhile in Chicago, a city that President Obama tells us "Is an example of what makes this country great," children are not being educated, and the reason for the Teachers Union strike is a guarantee of income. There are some questions about benefits or… whatever.
Are you kidding me? Children are not being educated. That is all that matters.
I have no guarantee of income. I have no guarantee of benefits. My retirement is my responsibility. My insurance is provided as a service by my employer, but I pay a payroll deduction, and my employer can decide tomorrow that he can’t afford to or just doesn’t want to provide insurance to his employees. That day will come soon enough, given what Obamacare is doing to small business owners.
I don’t believe teachers should have a guarantee of income either. I believe teachers should be part of America's meritocracy, just like I am. I can’t define how to rate their performance since I am not part of the education system, but I am sure there is a reasonable way to know that children are being educated well by any given individual. Those individuals who are proven to be capable teachers should receive raises, promotions, and bonuses. Those who prove not to be capable go find another line of work.
Teaching is a service job. All government jobs are, really.
Government in our Constitutional Republic means the provider of protection and essential services, not a means to higher wages than your neighbor, a secure retirement, and an excellent health care plan.
Merriam-Webster offers many variations on the word service. The one that applies specifically in this case is “an administrative division (as of a government or business).” But before that definition, I noticed the one I believe most accurately defines teaching when I think of my best teachers, and also defines my viewpoint of government employment.
“Contribution to the welfare of others” is what I believe service is all about, and I believe anyone who works for the government should do so with the understanding that their choice provides not as much the guarantee of wealth, but instead the satisfaction of giving to those in need.
I don’t understand how or why those who work in an industry called service deserve the guarantee of anything more than I or any other private sector worker, right now or ever for that matter.
I believe teachers should teach our children, and as long as they do so in a responsible manner they will be justly compensated for their work. In the mean time they ought to thank God they have the income they have. There are other Americans who are not so lucky right now, and some of the children of those unemployed might just be wondering why their teacher won’t come to school.
Of course most of the people who have walked out on our children side politically with the Democrat Party, an organization that removed God from its platform, so there’s that… and we know President Obama stands with the union, so I guess the children should find some hobbies.
It is impossible not to look at things through a left vs. right political lens when children are being cast aside over greed. It certainly politically interesting that these children are being neglected by the same people President Obama counts on for votes... you know, the candidate who is taking us "Forward," and who is best for women, children, and essentially everyone who is not a gainfully employed white heterosexual male.
I would be willing to bet this is one of President Obama's largest contribution areas, geographically speaking. After all he is from Chicago… after he moved here from the tiny island nation from Hawaii – you know, his being a foreigner and all… and he was very involved with unions throughout his earlier years.
I wonder… did George Stephanopoulos, Diane Sawyer or Brian Williams make a point to tell us Obama’s joke was in poor taste? Did Chris Matthews call Obama’s joke a “Dog-whistle?” Was there a front page story about it, anywhere? if I may quote Joe Biden… It sure was a big effing deal when mitt Romney made a joke about his and Ann’s birth certificates. I’m just sayin’…
Rush Limbaugh presented a theory today, that this Teachers Union strike is all a giant conspiracy. He believes it is happening so Barack Obama can come solve the problem and appear to be a hero.
Limbaugh also said we have no idea how close we are to the collapse of our economy. The real collapse, the one we can’t save ourselves from with a bailout.
I agree with Mr. Limbaugh on the second count. And although I don’t completely agree with his conspiracy theory, I appreciate his reasoning for the first.
I believe this strike is all about the selfishness of the people who are on strike, as well as political and financial greed on behalf of their leadership in the form of the union. I pin the majority of the responsibility on the union leadership, because I’m sure there are good people amongst the ranks of teachers everywhere who do not agree with the concept of going on strike at the expense of the kids, but they are subjected to the rules of the masses. In fact, I’m confident this is true in every unionized segment of government service work… but you just don’t cross a picket line, ever. So the kids are not being educated in Chicago, home of the $76,000 salary… before benefits.
If any politician benefits at the expense of our kids that will be a crying shame, conspiracy or not… and there is no doubt that we are going off the cliff.
It’s just a matter of time, at the rate things are moving. It almost seems planned… but why would we think a Saul Alinsky disciple who also studied and agrees with the ideas of Cloward and Piven would be looking to cause unrest in the streets?
The same people so concerned about Mitt Romney’s taxes and unwilling to look closely at the charity of this man’s life, are now casting aside our most vulnerable for their own personal gain.
No class warfare. No politics of personal destruction. No division based on gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, Faith, or any other factor.
Mitt Romney spoke simply and respectfully about how when elected he plans to work on behalf of all Americans, which is exactly what we should expect from our elected leadership.
I present to you the front pages from six major news outlets in the following order: ABC, BBC, NBC, NPR, CBS, and finally Drudge Report. These screen prints were all taken before 8:30am Arizona time.
Each of the first five provide their own internal reporting and have their own editor. Drudge Report is an aggregate news site; they gather news and information from multiple sources and provide their visitors with a wide spectrum of information.
The ONLY one of these sites offering real statistics in the wake of today's job numbers release appears to be Drudge Report. All the others appear to be leading with subdued headlines.
This nation is in dire straits, and nobody is telling us the truth. Well, not nobody... but those in whom we might have put our trust in the past for honest information no longer can be trusted.
It was wonderful to see Gabrielle Giffords on stage tonight. What a story of strength and courage she is.
And what a tragedy the way the political left, including President Barack Obama, played the uninformed, anti-Second Amendment political card in the wake of that tragic shooting. Facts have been proven rather stubborn for this administration.
Mr. Biden, if you and Barack see a future... if it's "In your DNA, where no one is forced to live in the shadows of intolerance," then why do the two of you and all your party big-wigs keep preaching intolerance toward success?
And why was your party's platform intolerant of our nation's founding with The Creator as a central focus... a point agreed upon and fully endorsed by Atheists at the time?
The 2012 Democrat National Convention was a complete and total fairy-tale based on the stories we've heard, and should be the demise of the Democrat Party for years based on their intolerance of God, Israel, and the complete vacuum of power we saw Wednesday afternoon. Our Creator is in our founding; to remove God from a party platform is not surprising from the left, but telling about where their organization really stands heading into the "home stretch" of this election. The inmates are running the asylum, as can be clearly seen here:
Debbie Wassermann-Schultz has the ability to look straight into peoples' eyes or directly into a camera and lies, and does not bat an eye or stutter at all. This woman is a pathological liar and needs to be removed from her position within the Democrat Party for the good of America.
We've been told Mitt Romney's agenda is backward looking, and a return to the past. We've been told this by a candidate and a party that had to bring out a president from 20 years ago. The strange thing about that is, Bill Clinton actually knew how to come to the center and work with his political opposition. Barack Obama has shown zero interest in "triangulation," and massive intent to run to the hard left if reelected.
It was fascinating to listen to Michelle Obama try and convince us that Barack was raised in a family environment "just like her." Michelle Robinson Obama seems to have had a normal upbringing, but Barack? Sorry, facts can't lie, and in this case facts are that he was raised by a bunch of communist appeasers with radical ideas, and in the case of his Father an actual hatred for America... other than the Ivy League education he got here, of course...
It's all in his own books. Read them. I am not name-calling, this is not "code" or a "dog-whistle." Barack Obama's world view was molded by radical, anti-American communists who hated America and all it stood for. That world view carried on into adulthood, where he formed friendships with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn and spent 20 years listening to Reverend Wright saying things like "God Damn America."
Any party that would bring out and highlight the womanizer Slick Willie Clinton, as well as the memory of Ted Kennedy of Chappaquiddick fame, while at the same time claiming to have love and devotion and respect for women... quite frankly that party must be insane.
This is the same party that nearly elected womanizer John Edwards VP on a ticket with the rich White guy John Heinz-Kerry.
I know, I know... it's in the past and this is 2012. And we are looking "forward," as Caroline Kennedy was trotted out once again to endorse a Democrat. Nothing like a throwback to 1963 to promote how we are looking "forward" while blasting the opposition's desire to return to fiscal policies that actually work.
And the fact that in a prerecorded video Biden felt the need to make the statement that Obama "never enters a meeting by asking what is the best political position" should give all Americans reason to be concerned. Everything Team Obama does seems to be based on politics.
Barack Obama has had four years to bring America closer to energy independence, but has done nothing. See Keystone Pipeline.
And his rant about lobbyists and checks for millions trying to buy this election? Hypocrisy 101. Ask Bill Maher how much money he has given Obama's reelection, and ask him for an opinion about Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann.
War on women, my ass.
Fighting for the middle class? Hardly. Palling around with rich Hollywood celebrities and taking massive donations from multiple dinners hosted by George Clooney? You betcha.
And not one mention, ever, about how the information gathering which began under the Bush administration aided and assisted in the killing of Osama bin Laden. I thought Barack Obama was interested in what's best for all Americans, not just what benefits him politically. Guess I was misinformed, damn it.
Barack Obama never would have been able to give the order, were it not for George W. Bush. And Mitt Romney's plan for bankruptcy for General Motors was a net positive, but it wouldn't have helped the unions as much as Obama did by directly funding them with our money. Let's be honest, since we are giving credit for bin Laden being dead and GM being alive...
Mitt Romney has a proven track record of working toward what is best for all, while Obama has proven to be nothing but a hard-left ideologue.
It was nice not to see Greek columns tonight, but tonight was much more of the same. Remember 2008, when we were given a chance of a "Fundamental transformation of America" or "More of the same?"
This go-around, should Barack Obama be reelected, America will be subjected to more of the same fundamental transformation to a Godless nation, leaving our strongest ally to stand completely on her own in a time of great peril.
And call me partisan... but should Barack Obama be reelected in November, we will be led for four more years by a man whose entire Presidency has been driven by ideology and the inability to work for all Americans, including the successful.
