Politico put this out there as an article, and i'd just like to ask everyone, including the people who decided to pull the man off the stage for his joke about President Obama, this one question:
Really?
The article says "Comedian." It's the second word.
I'm planning to have a great night, I hope you have the same.
I don't have much else to say, I guess. That should explain it all.

It's really quite interesting to see what's written just a bit lower on the page. Here's the rest of the article in case you stopped at the part about President Obama.
From: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/57273.html
"Brown didn’t just limit his jokes to Obama, though. He also mocked Mitt Romney’s Mormon faith, ridiculed Newt Gingrich’s faltering campaign and suggested Tim Pawlenty needed a spinal transplant."
From the above paragraph it seems as if this comedian wasn't pulled immediately after a joke about Obama after all.
"As Brown was preparing to make a Michele Bachmann joke, one of the conference’s officials came out to the lectern and told the comedian to leave the stage."
After reading that last paragraph it could be that maybe, just maybe, the event organizers didn't want this comedian to tarnish the reputation of their own party members!
"It was a remarkable display and came just one day after two high-profile Republicans —- Haley Barbour and Bobby Jindal — urged activists to focus only on going after Obama on policy and not engage in personal attacks."
Or maybe the even organizers were actually using a bit of common sense by standing behind what their party recently said about making personal attacks.
My thought is that they didn't want their own party attacked since they pulled this comedian not after the Obama jokes but instead after jokes were made about Romney, Gingrich, and Pawlenty. Or, what is more than likely the case, they didn't want this comedian to come out and say something that would become a soundbite against one of their own.
Hello Anonymous, and thanks for your comment.
I did not stop reading at the part about Obama. I read the entire article, and then based my post on the fact that Politico insinuated Reggie Brown was pulled due to the racial tone of the jokes.
I think, given the way this article was written, that that is a fair and honest read of the "agenda" behind the Politico article.
Your perspective that he was pulled before he skewered Republicans is certainly interesting.
And to think the people in charge of the conference followed the "common sense" put forward regarding personal attacks, as Jindal and Barbour's recommended, is highly unlikely. Had they used common sense at all, I believe they'd have done one of two things; either they’d never put him on stage, or they’d have not pulled him.
And in pulling him I believe they looked rather ridiculous, just as I believe Politico looked rather biased with their race-baiting first paragraph.
While the article says that those in attendance and even many of those responsible for the event thought that the racist remarks were funny someone apparently did not. Which was why the comedian was pulled.
From a 6/20 Politico article here:

“Had I been in the room I would have pulled him sooner. We have zero tolerance for racially insensitive jokes. As soon as I realized what was going on I rushed backstage and had him pulled." - Charlie Davis ~RLC
It is entirely possible that nobody checked into this comedian to see what he is all about. Might be a good idea to do that in the future before causing anymore unwanted stress and embarrassment when so many in the Republican party are just now trying to gain their footing as presidential candidates.
Racist "comedy" such as this has no place in today's society. In my opinion this comedian should never have been hired. But, neither you nor I were there to make that decision. Nor were we there to write the Politico article. No matter how you read it, the event happened and this comedian was an embarrassment to the RLC and to many Republicans. The ridiculousness was of their own doing. Had they not hired this comedian in the first place they would not have fed Politico any bait at all. Something to consider.
