Senate Democrat Proclaims Lame Duck Session Is "All Rigged"

In what should be lead-story, headline news if our media was doing its job, Democrat Michael Bennet proclaimed on Tuesday that the current Democrat controlled ame duck session is "rigged" near an open microphone on The Senate Floor.

“It’s all rigged. The whole conversation is rigged,” he said. “The fact that we don’t get to a discussion before the break about what we’re going to do in the lame duck. It’s just rigged.”

Bennet Chief of Staff Guy Cecil stood by the remarks.

“It’s something he’s been talking about from day one,” Cecil told the DC. “The whole process being rigged against having a real conversation about tax cuts, the estate tax and the defense authorization. We’re not having a lot of those conversations. It’s just a symptom of Washington being broken.”

According to an article posted November 30th on The Blaze, MSNBC‘s Kelly O’Donnell reached out to the Bennet camp for a comment and aid Adam Bozzi echoed the statement made by Cecil.

For almost two years, he [Bennet] has talked about needing to fix a broken Washington. We can’t move forward on major issues facing our country because of a broken system that is rigged to prevent progress. We are now in the second week of this session and haven’t begun debating Defense Authorization or tax cuts that will expire at the end of the year. Colorado and the rest of our country deserve better which is why he has proposed overhauling the way Washington works, including filibuster and lobbying reforms.

In the world of cable news, Fox News Channel opinion show host Glenn Beck tonight discussed the "Red Pill, Blue Pill" scene from The Matrix, and how be believes it relates to the current state of affairs in The United States of America.

Beck also talked about how throughout history the political left has made wonderful use of the thesaurus, and that if the progs were not so good at changing the name of their agenda we would be hearing today that China's currently re-branded version of National Socialism is being called the political and social model of the future.

Don't you just love unrecognized live mics?

Hoping -

I have heard that Speaker-to-be Boehner wishes to cooperate with CSPAN and set up more cameras and microphones around The House, in order to allow true "transparency" which San-Fran-Nan promised but never delivered.

This gesture was discussed by a show host (Beck or Hannity, if I remember correctly) specifically because there was a woman - a Democrat, and I think this specific incident took place in the Senate - who was more or less being told how to behave by someone in her party's leadership. She was refusing to hear motions brought by the Republican whose time was in progress... again, I'm relating a general description, wish I remembered the specifics.

Anyway, this leads me to my greater point: While I understand Congressman Boehner's motive to enhance visibility and transparency, I would propose a different approach.

Perhaps more cameras mounted in stationary positions would be beneficial, so that if someone were being directed by party leadership we could see that behavior in action. Those could indeed be broadcast on CSPAN, and what would really be cool is if CSPAN developed and interactive website in which the public could control their own choice of cameras. Maybe we could have a 4-pane broadcast window, allowing for multiple cameras to be viewed at any given time, and that information could even be recordable and downloadable, if they did it right. NASCAR has a multiple-pane viewing window it offers, so at least part of the technology already exists.

However, as far as microphones are concerned?

I think they should be randomly located in various spots throughout both chambers, and the locations could be changed periodically. The Republicans could secretly choose the locations of the mics on the Democrat's side of the chamber, and the Dems choose the locations on the Repub's side. They would then be physically placed located by someone who is supposed to act in a non-partisan manner at all times, and this could be done in the middle of the night when no Representatives are in the Capital building.

The party assigned to physically locate the microphones could even have the discretion to change the placement, so that there could be no guarantee for deal-making around this issue - because you know some people would negotiate "I'll sign off on your bill, if you promise to not have my area of the floor mic'd for "x" period of time."

Anyway - just a though... you know, I'm just a stoopid American in flyover country who doesn't know what's good for me...

You didn't really expect the lame stream media to cover this did you? They want the right to fail.

He just thinks the lame duck is broken and rigged? If so, that is the news.

it's all 'rigged' because of the Dems.....TALK already, the Republicans have wanted to for two years but TALK takes both sides and the Dems can't take it..
