Honorary Degree: is Obama worthy?

This week there has been great fervor on the left regarding a decision by Arizona State University. Apparently, they invited B. Hussein Obama to speak at their commencement, but chose not to offer him an 'honorary degree.'

Oh, the outrage.

Well, it seems that my favorite leftist blog (which misrepresents as a news agency) The Huffington Post caught on to this and started (in typical liberal fashion) twisting the truth into whatever fits its agenda best, in an effort to get their 50-75 faithful visitors panties all in a wad.

As reported by Dawn Teo, a woman who apparently covers politics for Huffnpuff, "ASU Stiffs Obama, Claims Too Inexperienced For Honorary Degree." However, she didn't really report at all, she took her information from a student journalist at ASU, who's headline simply read "Obama won’t receive ASU honorary degree" and never once mentioned the words "Too Inexperienced."

What the article did say was this: "University spokeswoman Sharon Keeler said Tuesday that the University awards honorary degrees to recognize individuals for their work and accomplishments spanning their lifetime.

“Because President Obama’s body of work is yet to come, it’s inappropriate to recognize him at this time,” Keeler said."

Of course, in the world of liberals, I can see where "President Obama’s body of work is yet to come" can easily be misinterpreted for "Too Inexperienced" - happens to me every day!

Within seconds of Teo's article being posted, the rage was on. ASU was denigrated to the status of "third-rate party school," Arizona was labeled racist, bigoted, and there were calls for the firing of someone.. anyone... oh, just please fire somebody, they dissed my prez.... !!!

Here's my favorite post from the comment thread:

"Arizona is loaded with Republican retirees ( we call them Q-tips) because all you see is the white head just barely poking out over the steering wheel. They all wander aimlessly into the voting booth and pull the big red R without knowing who they are voting for.

When the demographics change in the state with a younger population, the big Red R will be replaced by the big blue D. Until then, it will still be a Republican state, unless you are talking about Tucson."

I couldn't help but reply, so I offered this:

"What if I were to say South-Central is loaded with Democratic Party suckers. We call them Eggplants because they aren't white. They all go around doing drive-by shootings and drinking malt liquor from their 40 in the paper bag, and slapping their bitch around.

When things finally get so tough in Cali that they all have to move to Vegas or Phoenix, then maybe the big blue D there will be replaced by the big red R.

That's essentially what you just said, only ageist instead of racist.

Nice, huh?"

Of course, another leftist came to the first poster's defense, implying that my analogy was "ludicrous." Go figure.

What's ludicrous to me in this day and age is that the party of compassion (and supposedly higher education, since they run the universities) is so crass, uncaring, and apparently lacks common sense to the point that I'm actually able to come up with this content.

I mean really - you just can't make this stuff up! Thank God for liberals and their entertainment value, since there's just no good sitcoms on TV I need them for a good laugh!!

Happy Easter to all...
